The North Carolina Networking Initiative (NCNI) is an advanced networking collaborative of North Carolina's foremost network research institutions - Duke University, North Carolina State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and MCNC.
MCNC's North Carolina Research and Education Network(NCREN) supports NCNI's network research and experimentation initiatives. Engineering of the portion of the NCREN network serving the NCNI member universities is done in collaboration with NCNI and industry partners.
Networking and infrastructure initiatives through NCNI support advanced research on the campuses of the founding universities and drive the development of many of the advanced services developed for NCREN to benefit the entire state.
